However, that has not discouraged William Blair to initiate its coverage with an outperform recommendation as the analyst Matthew Larew sees an opportunity in the platform-based company. “We expect Ginkgo to capture considerable value by democratizing cell programming,” Larew wrote, adding that the company’s platform makes synthetic biology more accessible for companies. Ginkgo Bioworks’ cell programming platform is designed to provide biotechnology applications addressing the needs of a wide range of markets from food and agriculture to industrial chemicals to pharmaceuticals. After the initial selloff on the short report, Ginkgo Bioworks shares recovered on Thursday after ARK Invest — run by notable fund manager Cathie Wood — doubled down on its position in the company. However, two consecutive sessions of declines followed.

Newbie28 Im Bereich der synthetischen Biologie gibt es viele Player. Die Hauptexpertise von Ginkgo sehe ich in der effizienten Methode der Genmanipulation der Mikroorganismen, sog. "cell factories". Wir hatten Ginkgo als eines der Startup-Unternehmen im einem Schulprojekt (Bio LK). vor zwei Jahren gab es noch eine Reihe anderer Startups die in diesem Feld aktiv sind. Ob die noch aktiv sind, weiß ich nicht.

Schwer zu sagen. Die bekannten Projekte sind schon cool. Und bekannte Namen wie Bill Gates waren hier vor dem IPO investiert, was der Popularität hilft. Bin Anfängerin an der Börse und möchte keine Einschätzung / Prognosen zur Kursentwicklung abgeben. Mich interessiert bei Ginkgo vielmehr die Wissenschaft dahinter 😀

Bis wo haben wir Potenzial kurstechnisch?

Bewertung laut Dealroom per Mai 2021: €15,9 Milliarden

Laut Crunchbase hatten sie 9 (!) Finanzierungsrunden bis Mai 2020 (insg. $800 Mio)

Enormes Potenzial mit viel FOMO-Aspekt. Ginkgo ist nicht der einzige Player auf dem Feld der Precision Fermentation, aber derzeit der Meistgefeierte. Schon a bißerl überbewertet aber irgendwie auch vorbestimmt durch die immer gesteigerte Bewertung während der vorhergehenden sehr erfolgreicheb Finanzierungsrunden.
