Goldman Sachs analyst maintained a Buy rating on Lynas Rare Earths Limited ( – ) today and set a price target of A$7.40. Paul Young has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors, including Lynas Rare Earths Limited’s strong financial performance and promising future prospects. Lynas reported a higher than expected underlying EBITDA and NPAT for the first half of FY24, driven by lower costs and efficient inventory management. The company is on track to double Neodymium and Praseodymium (NdPr) production by the end of CY24, despite current weak market prices. This ramp-up is expected to lead to an EBITDA margin of around 40% in FY25, highlighting significant profitability potential. Furthermore, the company is progressing with its expansion plans, including the Mt Weld plant and the Kalgoorlie Cracking & Leaching facility, which are slated to contribute to future production increases. The anticipated construction of a U.S. government-funded refinery in Texas further bolsters the company’s growth trajectory. Young’s analysis suggests that Lynas is undervalued, trading at approximately 0.8 times its Net Asset Value (NAV), and he projects a balanced NdPr market in the medium term with deficits in the long run. This, coupled with the potential doubling of NdPr production, justifies the Buy rating and the positive outlook for Lynas Rare Earths Limited.
