Mwyngil Therapeutics are working on the obesity target of the future: GPR75.
Loss of function variants in GPR75 protect against obesity more than any other gene - humans with the variants weigh ~5 kg less, and inhibiting or deleting GPR75 prevents obesity in mice.
Mwyngil have an inverse agonist, which prevents GPR75 from being switched on (like an antagonist) but also suppresses the baseline activity of the receptor (to better replicate genetic deficiency).
Definitely one to watch.

Deutsche Bank cut its 2026 sales forecast for Foundayo to $1.3B from about $3B, while analysts surveyed by FactSet have more than doubled their 2026 sales projections for the Wegovy pill to $2.2B. “We expect momentum to build as physicians, pharmacies, and patients learn more about Foundayo,” a spokesperson for Lilly (LLY) said. Meanwhile, Novo (NVO) attributed its sales lead to Wegovy’s pill’s superior efficacy. “Wegovy pill is the better pill, from an efficacy standpoint,” added Jamey Millar, executive vice president of the company’s U.S. operations. However, Novo (NVO) is not resting on its laurels as Lilly (LLY) continues to dominate the market for injectable weight-loss drugs.
