Polyphor-Aktien im Höhenrausch - Hoffnung auf neuen Produktkandidaten Die Aktien von Polyphor befinden sich am Donnerstag im Höhenrausch. Mit Kursaufschlägen von zeitweise mehr als 40 Prozent sind sie der mit Abstand grösste Gewinner am Schweizer Aktienmarkt. Auslöser für die Euphorie ist die Entdeckung einer neuen Antibiotika-Klasse, die gegen mehrere Bakterien wirksam ist. Entdeckt wurde sie von Zürcher Forschenden in Zusammenarbeit mit Polyphor. 24.10.2019 09:50 Polyphor-Aktien kosten mit aktuell 8,00 Franken 38 Prozent mehr als noch am Vortag. Allerdings sind sie damit immer noch weit von ihrem bisherigen Hoch entfernt, das vom Mai 2018 stammt und gut 37 Franken beträgt. Seither haben sich die Aktien in mehreren Wellen abwärts bewegt. Besonders dramatisch war der Einbruch im Mai dieses Jahres, als Polyphor zwei Phase-III-Studien mit einem Antibiotika-Kandidaten wegen Nebenwirkungen einstellen musste. Entsprechend gross dürfte die Hoffnung auf die neue Entdeckung sein. Wie aus einer Mitteilung von Mittwoch hervorgeht, haben die Forschenden eine neue Familie von synthetischen Antibiotika gefunden. Diese blockieren den Aufbau der äusseren Bakterien-Membran und töten so gramnegative Keime effektiv ab. Polyphor will nun eine der Substanzen - sie heisst "POL7306" - in die klinische Prüfung am Menschen bringen. In einem ersten Kommentar beschreibt Analyst Michael Nawrath von der ZKB den Wirkmechanismus als einzigartig. Solch eine Nachricht sei zwar sehr gut für die wissenschaftliche Welt, habe aber nichts mit einer Validierung zu tun, dass ein entsprechendes Molekül jemals klinisch angewandt werde und im Menschen eine tolerierbare Wirkung erzielen könne. "Die toxischen Nebenwirkungen des einstigen Lead-Produkts belegen dieses Problem, weshalb Polyphor massiv zurückgeworfen wurde", heisst es im Kommentar.

Polyphor verteuern sich um 10.25 Uhr um knapp 21 Prozent auf 6,29 Franken. Allerdings folgt das aktuelle Plus auf einen veritablen Kurseinbruch: Anfang September hatten die Papiere am Tag der Zahlenpräsentation knapp ein Fünftel an Wert eingebüsst. Und vor einen Jahr hatte eine Polyphor-Aktie noch über 30 Franken gekostet. Die Gegenreaktion wurde nun durch Aussagen von CEO Giacomo Di Nepi in der "Finanz und Wirtschaft" ausgelöst. Er setzt im Kampf gegen Brustkrebs grosse Hoffnungen in den Produktkandidaten Balixafortide. Die Ergebnisse der durchgeführten Proof-of-Concept-Studie seien "wirklich hervorragend", so der CEO. Zudem könnte Balixafortide auch noch für die Therapie anderer Krebsarten eingesetzt werden.

Das könnte heute ein interessanter Tag werden. Prognose: +25% .
