Renault Group Partners with Vulcan Energy Dear Friends of the Zero Carbon Lithium™ Project, We are very pleased to announce today that we have entered into a five-year strategic partnership with Renault Group as part of the Zero Carbon Lithium™ Project. In line with the Group's ambition to offer 'made in Europe' cars, and following the launch of Renault ElectriCity - the most competitive and efficient production unit for electric vehicles in Europe - the Group will purchase between 6,000 and 17,000 metric tonnes per year of battery grade lithium chemicals produced in Germany by Vulcan, with the start of commercial delivery set for 2026. Renault Group, which has set the aim to achieve carbon neutrality worldwide in 2050, continues to accelerate its EV strategy to reach the greenest mix in the European market in 2025, with over 65% of electric and electrified vehicles in the sales mix, and up to 90% battery electric vehicles mix in 2030. Thanks to Vulcan, which will produce a battery-quality lithium chemical product from its combined geothermal energy and lithium resource while reducing lithium's high carbon and water footprint on production, Renault Group will be able to avoid from 300 to 700 kg of CO2 for a 50-k-Wh battery. The binding term sheet is conditional on the execution of a Definitive Agreement on materially similar terms by 20 November 2021. Bei Twitter fragte jemand ob "binding offtake term sheet" auch eine Konkretisierung der "Terms" zum LG offtake sein könnte. Was meint ihr?

Guten Morgen, Vulcanier 🖖 Provokant geantwortet: Die technische Machbarkeit wurde bereits in der PFS bestätigt. Das auch in der großtechnischen Umsetzung noch Probleme auftauchen können, ist klar. Aber die sind selten der Showstopper. Zumal die Konkurrenz mit ähnlicher Technik vorgeht!

Ich gehe jetzt mal davon aus, dass die Abnahmeverträge schon von konkreter Natur sind. Möglicherweise liegt den Unternehmen bereits eine interne Studie vor und es wurden sicherlich Lithiumproben an die jeweiligen Labore versendet. Stellantis und Daimler stehen ja noch aus😉. Wir werden sehen- LG hat ja auf 5 Jahre abgeschlossen und die benötigte Menge ja auch schon festgelegt so dass noch weitere Kunden folgen werden. Man muss sagen, dass sich jetzt alle Ihr Plätzchen sichern. Über die Verfügbarkeit von Chile Lithium brauchen wir ja nicht sprechen…

Echt krasse Sache. M.E. kannst du einen Abnahmevertrag nur unterschreiben wenn du auch liefern kannst, sonst wäre es nur ein Memorandum.

@K.P.taler: Wurde Vulcan etwa im neuen Heft von "DerAktionär" besprochen? Ich habe in den frei-verfügbaren Videos oder Artikeln bislang noch nichts über Vulcan gefunden. Einzig Herr Maydorn hatte einmal ein kurzes Chart über einen Lithium-Index aufgelegt, in dem Vulcan auch mit ~ 4% enthalten war - aber zum Unternehmen/Projekt hat er kein Wort verloren (Schade eigentlich).
