BYD remains EV king. We already knew this in late October, but BYD has officially surpassed Tesla in global BEV sales. In total EV sales, BYD now sells 2x Tesla globally, and now sells multiple models with significantly higher ASPs than Tesla’s highest-spec models.

Really surprised by Dec sales of Song L Beat both G6 & LS6, despite getting launched on 15th A lot of deliveries in < 2 weeks Most ppl don't need NOA just yet + BYD brand really plays + BYD ramped up production & got them into store really quickly I think it's worth talking abt what happened here, since LS6 is better on paper than Song L BYD has some huge advantages over competition: - brand recognition as NEV champion - large dealership network - leads to large store visits - ability to scale up production & get cars into stores quickly Aside from Tesla/HW/Li Auto, everyone else could price better EV @ same px & still get outsold by BYD product And that's b4 we even look @ BYD's huge cost advantage So, maybe i need to re-evaluate my original assessment of abt 8000 Song L/month. 10k+ looks more likely At some pt, they will need advanced ADAS package though

After a month where U8 outsold N7+N8, Denza has issued sales incentive of up to 50k for Jan Came right after releasing HW NOA recently N7 struggled due to being overpriced & not having competitive ADAS Denza Chief also announced N7 charging will get 30% faster thru OTA (10 min for 300 km) These moves should jumpstart N7 sales 高快NOA (non-Lidar config HW NOA) is coming in Q1 All of this makes me wonder why they released N7 so soon? It was not ready. If OTA can unlock faster charging, that means battery chemistry already supports it, BMS & OBC were just overly conservative N7 was launched just as market changed & demanded faster charging + better ADAS. N7 sales felt flat & Denza chief finally realized he needs to tell everyone that N7 had 800V system & promote its ADAS I really hope he learnt his lesson in 2024. N8 needs to be cut from the lineup. If N8 Max comes out, it needs to be larger. Every new model & refresh needs to have at least HW NOA ADAS optionality. N9 & sedans need to come loaded w/ City NOA & fast charging. That's what the market is demanding. If those things are not ready, he should hold back their unveiling
