Direkt Verbündeter eher nicht. Die USA haben dort zwar eigentlich eine pro US Regierung sitzen aber diese ist schwach. Iranische Interessensgruppen, der IS, schiitische Milizen, da turnt alles mögliche rum. Das Problem ist immer: Wenn du in solchen Staaten den Chef vor die Tür setzt, tauchen danach immer die kleinen regionalen Dorf-Sheriffs auf und machen einen auf dicke Hose. Die Folge: Bürgerkriege, Machtvakuum und evtl nen noch schlimmeres Regime als vorher. Es ist manchmal besser einen Diktator dort sitzen zu lassen, den man aber kennt und weiß wie der tickt, als dann feststellen zu müssen das da dann neue Machtverhältnisse entstehen, die noch schwieriger zu kalkulieren sind.
