Midsummer erhält Auftrag für Maschinen im Wert von 143 Mio. SEK [Stockholm, Schweden, 6. Mai 2025] Der schwedische Entwickler und Hersteller von Dünnschicht-Solarzellen und Maschinen für deren Produktion, Midsummer, hat von einem schwedischen Industrie- und Rüstungskonzern einen Auftrag über eine schlüsselfertige Produktionslinie für die Herstellung von Dünnschicht-Solarzellen im Wert von 143,5 Mio. SEK [13,1 Mio. EUR; 14,8 Mio. USD] erhalten. Die bestellte schlüsselfertige Produktionslinie hat eine jährliche Produktionskapazität von 15 MW für die von Midsummer entwickelten flexiblen Dünnschicht-Solarzellen und ist die erste Stufe einer Fabrik für die Herstellung von Dünnschicht-Solarzellen in einem außereuropäischen Land mit der Absicht, die Kapazität zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt zu erweitern. Der Großteil des Auftragswerts wird voraussichtlich im Jahr 2025 als Ertrag verbucht werden. Midsummer picked for Italian research project to develop tandem solar cells – receives grant of EUR 2.8m [Stockholm, Sweden, and Puglia, Italy, April 9, 2025.] Swedish thin film solar cell manufacturer Midsummer has been chosen by the Italian Ministry of University and Research to participate in a consortium with the aim to develop a new type of solar cell named “Quantum Dot CIGS/Perovskite Tandem”. The “Quantum Dot Enhanced Lightweight Solar Cells” (QDELS) project aims to develop and validate a new production process for CIGS (Cu In Ga Se) solar cells with a tandem perovskite structure enhanced with quantum dots (QD). The ultimate objective is to develop and validate a new process to enhance the efficiency of CIGS (Cu In Ga Se) cells, surpassing conventional silicon cells in all parameters. For this purpose, Midsummer will receive a grant of approx. EUR 2.8m from the Ministry of University and Research for work and materials used in the tests. The project will run for four years starting this autumn and the total budget is EUR 7.5m. Consorzio Hypatia and the National Research Council are the other two parties involved in the project. In November, Midsummer announced plans to investigate the opportunity to set up a 200 MW plant together with a consortium in Thailand. As a next step in these preparations Midsummer has signed a distribution agreement with Eco On, a leading solar distributor and installer in Thailand. Eco On, formerly known as Gold Stone Energy Thailand, has a distinguished history of delivering comprehensive solar energy solutions, including rooftop installations, ground mounted and solar carports. The company collaborates with major energy corporations and conglomerates across Thailand, contributing significantly to the nation's renewable energy landscape. Eco On will distribute and install Midsummer’s light and flexible solar panels across Thailand. Der Nettoumsatz der Midsummer-Gruppe belief sich im dritten Quartal 2024 auf 27.348 TSEK (11.898 TSEK), was einer Steigerung von etwa 130 Prozent entspricht. Für die Produktlinie Solardach betrug der Nettoumsatz 12.876 TSEK (12.175 TSEK), davon 12.088 TSEK (9.244 TSEK) für den Verkauf von Solarmodulen und 777 TSEK (2.921 TSEK) für die Installation von Solarzellen. Für die Produktlinie Produktionsausrüstung betrug der Nettoumsatz 14.472 TSEK (-276 TSEK). Die Verwaltungs- und Marketingkosten für das dritte Quartal 2024 wurden im Vergleich zum Vorjahresquartal mehr als halbiert (knapp 17 MSEK im Vergleich zu gut 35 MSEK). Das Betriebsergebnis belief sich auf -6.113 TSEK (-48.118 TSEK) für das Quartal. Das Ergebnis je Aktie des Konzerns betrug im Quartal -0,05 SEK/Aktie (-0,64 SEK/Aktie) sowohl vor als auch nach Verwässerung. Solar energy leader Midsummer AB and defence and security company Saab AB have today signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding to investigate a long-term partnership in the Kingdom of Thailand. This is connected with Saab’s defence and security business, and Thailand’s policies for industrial cooperation and technology transfer to deliver wider benefits to the Thai economy. The MoU between Midsummer and Saab is intended to establish a long-term, comprehensive framework to explore and identify potential activities for industrial cooperation for applications in Thailand and other export markets. The focus will be on solar energy manufacturing and technology, which is a core element of Midsummer’s expertise. In Thailand, the parties have jointly identified possible opportunities in the establishment of a 200-MW ‘mega factory’ for the production of thin film solar cells, using Midsummer’s proprietary technology and production equipment. This is the second payment according to the agreement the parties concluded and follows the approved factory inspection Invitalia did at the end of April. All manufacturing equipment is now installed on site and the factory is ready to scale up production as sales increase and when factory and product certifications are completed. In total, Midsummer will receive approximately SEK 235m in grants to start production in what will be Europe's largest factory for the production of thin film solar cells with an annual production capacity of 50 MW. The first payment of approximately SEK 73m took place last year. A smaller portion from Puglia Region is also planned to be paid out during the summer of 2024 and a final payment for the production-related part of the project is planned to be paid out in 2025. Those remaining payments amounts to approximately SEK 20m in total. In addition, there is approx.
