The LPUs will be integrated into Nvidia's upcoming Vera Rubin platform and work alongside the Rubin graphics processing units to support longer context windows and lower latency for agentic AI. A context window is the amount of data being processed at one time. "We're just going to add a whole bunch of Groq chips, which expands the amount of memory it has," Huang said. He also announced the new Groq 3 LPX rack that connects 256 LPUs to work as one processor. In December, Nvidia said it entered a non-exclusive licensing agreement with Groq for its inference technology.
