Along with other analysts, Schafer pointed to Nvidia’s ability to extend its current-generation Hopper chips to cover any delay in Blackwell shipments and the minimal risk of share loss as major technology companies continue to covet the most powerful AI chips. Schafer reiterated an Outperform rating on Nvidia stock with a $150 target price. On Tuesday, NewStreet analyst Pierre Ferragu upgraded Nvidia stock to Buy from Neutral. He has a $120 price target. “We do not believe the issues related to packaging are signs of deeper, more fundamental issues,” Ferragu wrote. “It is a striking paradox, but a delay in the ramp of Blackwell actually eases supply chain constraints for Nvidia.” The analyst agrees customers will just spend more on the current-generation Hopper chips.
