BYD Yangwang U8 Off-road Player has an optional drone hangar. Yangwang is a high-end NEV brand under BYD. The Yangwang U8 is a massive EREV SUV with 880 kW. Last year, Yangwang launched the Luxury version for 1.098 million yuan ($154K). But that was just the beginning of the madness. BYD has just unveiled a new U8 Off-road Player version. It has off-road thingies like a snorkel, a hood plate, wider side bars, and a large roof rack. But most fascinating is the optional drone hangar, jointly developed with drone-maker DJI. The hangar is based in an outsized roof box that slides open to the rear. Inside is a DJI Mavic 3 drone. The drone feeds imagery to the car's infotainment system, from where it can stream directly to social media. The Mavic 3 wull be charged fully automatically in the hangar, to get ready for another flight. The price of the drone hangar is yet unknown.
