Die neuen Daten von Moderna sind ein Meilenstein in der Medizinforschung. Die hazard ratio hat sich von Dezember (Verkündung der 1.Daten) von 44 Prozent auf nun 77 Prozent verbessert. Diese Zahl muss man sich vor Augen halten, hier sinkt das Sterberisiko um 77 Prozent mit der Behandlung bzw. das Risiko von Rezidiven. So eine Erfolgsquote sucht seines gleichen in der Medizintechnologie. Ich würde fast so weit gehen,dass nun ernsthaft über ein beschleunigtes Verfahren ohne Phase III von Seiten der Zulassungsbehörden nachgedacht wird. Hierdurch sollten auch BioNTechs Ergebnisse auf ein größeres mediales Interesse stoßen. Ich bin gespannt auf die nächsten Tage. In meinen Augen gibt es aufgrund dieser Ergebnisse nur eine Richtung 📈 IMPORTANT / Summary of 3rd of June ASCO presentation by MODERNA: For ctDNA NEGATIVE POPULATION (majority of cases of phase 2 study), DATA SHOW THAT REDUCTION OF RISK OF RECURRENCE/DEATH WITH PCV TREATMENT IS MUCH HIGHER THAN PREVIOUSLY ANNOUNCED (77% reduction comparing to the figure of 44% announced in December) CtDNA (circulating tumor dna) is found in the blood and refers to DNA that comes from cancerous cells and tumors ; In the phase 2 study, majority of people were ctDNA negative (88%) ; data show that RFS (recurrence free survival) is significantly weaker for ctDNA postive vs. ctDNA negative ; presence of ctDNA could be important indication to limitation of efficacy of treatment (both with or without PCV) ; For the ctDNA negative population, RFS was 90% for treatment with PCV (sample size 77) vs. 45% without PCV (sample size 33). This translates in 77% REDUCTION OF RISK WITH PCV VS. WITHOUT PCV (VS. 44% REDUCTION OF DECEMBER). The difference is due to the fact that there are more people ctDNA positive in sample treated with PCV that sample treated without. LIMITATION: SIZE OF SAMPLES.
