Trump to slap new 25% tariff on Canadian steel, aluminum United States President Donald Trump on Tuesday vowed to impose an additional 25% tariff on all steel and aluminum imported from Canada in response to Ontario slapping a 25% levy on electricity from the US. "This will go into effect TOMORROW MORNING, March 12th. Also, Canada must immediately drop their Anti-American Farmer Tariff of 250% to 390% on various U.S. dairy products, which has long been considered outrageous. I will shortly be declaring a National Emergency on Electricity within the threatened area. This will allow the U.S to quickly do what has to be done to alleviate this abusive threat from Canada," Trump explained on TruthSocial, further escalating the trade war with his country's northern neighbor. Moreover, the US president threatened to "permanently shut down" Canada's automobile industry. "The only thing that makes sense is for Canada to become our cherished Fifty-first State," Trump stated and argued in favor of abolishing the "artificial line of separation" between the US and Canada.

@ kurzdruck wenn ich die Zinsen senken will, sind Zölle kontraproduktiv. Dadurch steigen die Preise u. damit die Inflation.
