Bernstein Analyst Calls NVDA and AVGO “Absurdly Cheap,” Upgrades AMD, Stays Cautious on QCOM Sheryl Sheth Jun 24, 2026, 02:56 PM Bernstein analyst Stacy Rasgon reviewed the semiconductor sector in the firm’s latest quarterly update, describing AI as the “only game in town” for the industry. While he acknowledged that valuations and investor positioning have become stretched in some areas, Rasgon maintained bullish ratings on Nvidia NVDA -0.36% ▼ and Broadcom AVGO +0.54% ▲ , calling both stocks “absurdly cheap” relative to their long-term growth opportunities. At the same time, he upgraded Advanced Micro Devices AMD +0.43% ▲ but remained cautious on Qualcomm QCOM -3.69% ▼ . His bullish stance comes despite a sharp rally in semiconductor stocks, which have surged roughly 155% since the AI boom began. Rasgon argues that strong earnings growth and expanding AI demand continue to justify the valuations of NVDA and AVGO. Why Rasgon Still Likes Nvidia and Broadcom According to Rasgon, Nvidia and Broadcom remain the biggest beneficiaries of the ongoing AI spending wave. Despite their strong stock-market performance, he believes both companies are well positioned to capture a significant share of future AI infrastructure spending. Nvidia remains the leader in AI accelerators, with demand for its GPUs still outpacing supply. The company has benefited from massive data-center investments by hyperscalers and enterprises building AI capabilities. Broadcom has also emerged as a major AI infrastructure winner through its networking products and custom AI chips (ASICs). While the stock has faced some volatility following recent earnings guidance, Rasgon believes its long-term AI opportunity remains intact. Rasgon recently upgraded AMD, citing growing confidence in its AI opportunity. He believes AMD’s Instinct AI chips are gaining traction with major cloud providers, while its data-center business continues to grow rapidly. Although Nvidia remains the market leader, Rasgon sees AMD as a credible alternative for hyperscalers seeking to diversify their AI hardware suppliers. Meanwhile, he remains cautious on Qualcomm due to ongoing pressure in its core smartphone business. Rasgon noted that QCOM is expanding into automotive, PCs, and AI-related markets. Yet, he believes these newer markets may take time to offset slower mobile growth and are unlikely to match the AI-driven momentum seen at Nvidia and Broadcom.
