Trump: Auto tariffs may go up in not too distant future
United States President Donald Trump revealed on Thursday that tariffs on automobiles might go up "in not too distant future."
"To defend our automakers, I imposed this 25% tariff on all foreign automobiles and investment in American manufacturing and auto manufacturing is surging. I might go up with that tariff," Trump shared during a press conference.

Trump: California EV mandate terminated
United States President Donald Trump announced on Thursday, while speaking to reporters at the White House, that the California electric vehicle mandate is done for.
"We officially rescue the US auto industry from destruction by terminating [the EV] mandate once and for all. They said it couldn't be done ... they passed these crazy laws in California," he stated.
Trump insisted that the California standard was a "disaster." The California EV mandate is a regulation that focuses on lowering pollution and encouraging the use of cleaner vehicles. Various companies, including General Motors Company and Toyota Motor Corporation, lobbied against the mandate, calling the rules "impossible" to meet.
