You see, they must create legitimate liquidity for every sell order, but if no buyer exists, then they must sell their own shares at what could be a big loss right now. Ideally, they want to wait till tomorrow mkt open (when liquidity returns) and finesse their shares away (so as to reduce their own exposure).
