In this work, we tackle the challenge by combining two emerging technologies:
Event cameras โ asynchronous sensors that encode scene changes rather than absolute appearance
BrainChip Akida neuromorphic processor โ that exploits sparse activations for real-time, energy-efficient inference at the edge
We train compact regression networks on event-frame representations from the SPADES dataset, apply quantization-aware training, and convert them to Akida-compatible spiking neural networks.
