Oracle's AI Boom Has a Power Problem Oracle is using or considering trucked natural gas at several AI campuses as it races to bring new data-center capacity online. Faizan Farooque 10/12/2026 19:16 Enterprise software and cloud provider Oracle Corp. (ORCL, Financials) is discovering that the most difficult aspect of its AI buildout might not be client demand. It may be getting sufficient electricity to new data centers on schedule. At one site near Salt Lake City, natural gas was trucked in for more than a year while a pipeline was completed. Oracle is already deploying or testing comparable “virtual pipeline” solutions at three sites. while there is a simple reason: client contracts include deadlines for delivery, while pipes, utilities hookups and permits can take much longer. This imbalance causes considerable financial strain. The analysis found that trucked natural gas can cost four times as much as pipeline supplies. Pipeline difficulties have pushed back the timeline for Oracle's 2.45-gigawatt campus at Project Jupiter, New Mexico, the company is evaluating a strategy. This is where Oracle's AI proposition becomes an execution narrative for investors. The corporation has lots of signed demand, but establishing enough capacity fast may involve costly workarounds and ongoing capital investment. This is especially crucial because Oracle is already negative free cash flow, and growing fast. The next test will be if Oracle can bring these campuses online without allowing power delays and temporary infrastructure to dramatically impair the economics of its AI contracts. https://www.gurufocus.com/news/9119155/oracles-ai-boom-has-a-power-problem?utm_source=marketwatch&utm_medium=syndication&utm_campaign=headlines&r=4bf001661e6fdd88d0cd7a5659ff9748&mod=mw_quote_newseconomics of its AI contracts.

120€ wieder nachgelegt! Wer diese Aktie in seinem Depot hat, muss wissen das er bis 2028 vl eine Durststrecke vor sich hat. Erst dann kommen die Investitionen zum Tragen und neue Höchststände sind realistisch 🤞

Warum?

AI Growth as AVGO Eyes Expanding Infrastructure Demand GuruFocus News 10/12/2026 12:55 On October 12, 2026, Broadcom Inc (NASDAQ: AVGO) CEO Hock Tan highlighted a shift in the AI development landscape, warning that financial constraints may soon eclipse chip supply shortages as the primary bottleneck for AI infrastructure expansion. This insight comes amid ongoing wafer and memory shortages, with Broadcom pivoting attention toward the capital requirements for scaling AI technologies. Tan also pointed to promising revenue opportunities for AI innovators such as OpenAI and Anthropic, whose breakthroughs are increasingly integrated into personal assistant applications.

Auch für die 100% NVIDIA-Rechenzentren für OpenAI ist die Lage nicht optimal: Microsoft Unveils New Maia AI Chips. What to Know. By Nate Wolf Oct 12, 2026, 9:00 am EDT Microsoft on Monday unveiled its latest artificial-intelligence chip, dubbed Maia 300, as part of an effort to deploy custom hardware across its data centers. The Maia 300 system, which is an entire server rack filled with 96 Maia processors, will be deployed in Microsoft’s cloud-computing facilities beginning in 2027, joining predecessor Maia 200. The company plans to run multiple gigawatts worth of AI workloads on Maia hardware starting next year. Microsoft stock has risen 11% in 2026, trailing the S&P 500 by a few percentage points. It was a Barron’s stock pick in March. The expansion of Maia is the latest sign that large AI companies want to expand the use of custom, in-house hardware and lessen their reliance on pricey third-party chips. Graphics processing units, or GPUs, from Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices have long been the go-to choice for training AI models. With attention turning to inference—using models to solve problems, complete tasks, and power autonomous agents—other types of chips have become an increasingly vital piece of the AI ecosystem. Microsoft said in a blog post Monday that Maia will be “the primary AI inference system for Microsoft products and services.” Beyond Microsoft, Amazon.com has a range of custom Trainium chips, and Alphabet’s Google is now on its eighth generation of AI chips, which it calls TPUs. Meta Platforms and OpenAI have only recently started getting into the game. Microsoft expects Maia 300 to compute 40% more tokens—the measure of inputs and outputs in an AI query—per each megawatt of power than leading GPU-based systems. It also has industry-leading memory bandwidth, the company says. A more efficient AI system is a selling point for Microsoft’s Azure cloud unit and Foundry AI software platform, which are competing with providers like Amazon Web Services and Google to host companies’ AI workloads. “Azure Maia is a foundational component of our approach to expand access, accelerate innovation and help customers capture more value from AI,” Microsoft said. Analysts polled by FactSet expect Azure revenue to grow 43% in fiscal 2027, which ends next June, up from 41% in 2026. That kind of growth is critical if Microsoft wants to justify the projected $189 billion it is investing this fiscal year to fuel its AI ambitions. www.barrons.com/articles/microsoft-ma...
