BYD Semiconductor has announced mass‑production of its new‑generation 4D mmWave radar chip, built on a satellite architecture with the Xuanji A3 as its computing core. This 28nm automotive‑grade chip is engineered for high‑resolution radar systems. It features a MIPI CSI‑2 high‑speed interface optimized for the satellite architecture and supports mainstream SerDes devices. Having completed joint debugging and adaptation with the Xuanji A3 ADAS chip, it meets detection‑performance requirements for Tier 1 module suppliers. The chip solution supports L2‑L4 ADAS use‑cases, with core capabilities as follows: ‑ 400m+ detection range: Enables early perception of multi‑lane traffic speed and position changes, supporting ACC, AEB and LCA. ‑ 0.8° horizontal resolution: Improves discrimination between lanes/barriers and vehicles/pedestrians, alongside narrow‑passage maneuverability. ‑ 0.05m parking‑level resolution: Accurately identifies low‑profile, low‑reflectivity obstacles (bollards, curbs, traffic cones etc.) and integrates with 360° surround‑view systems for automated valet parking.
